Piano
The Piano Performance Track’s main areas of study — Ear Training, Music Theory and Analysis, Music History, and Performance & Musicianship Studies— will broaden your understanding of the foundations of music and to provide a context for the music literature you study and perform.

Our comprehensive Vocal Performance Track is tailored to the needs of the 21st-century singer, who must not only sing but understand the storytelling dynamics of the modern performance career.

If you’re looking to study piano for yourself or your child, this is the place to go. I started playing piano around 5 or 6 years old, and I loved it. I had a few different teachers throughout the years, but eventually I felt like I hit a wall. Around 5th grade, I decided I wanted to learn Beethoven’s Für Elise, but I just wasn’t getting it. My teacher didn’t seem to want to push me any further than I had gotten, and I didn’t know how to make progress on my own.
At CCMA I was introduced to music theory in a way that was so simple and inviting, so I started to actually *understand* what I was playing. Those building blocks gave me the tools to sit down and truly learn the music. For recital I would look through the music library and see what was within my range, my teacher would then play some recordings while I followed along in the sheet music to give me an idea of what kind of patterns and challenges I could look forward to. I was ALWAYS happy with what we chose. Even when I hadn’t practiced enough or I was nervous that I wouldn’t have enough of a piece memorized, I always left my lessons feeling accomplished. We always made progress. So if you’re considering the Chase Conservatory, I recommend taking the step and reaching out. You won’t regret it.
